Google is working on Google Now integration for it’s Chrome browsers and Chrome OS.
Google engineers have added a code reference in the latest Chromium build which points towards an impending Google Now integration.
Chromium enthusiast François Beaufort has made the discovery and shared it on his Google+ page. Here’s the extract…
Google Now is behind an eponymous flag in chrome://flags in the last Chromium build (download-chromium.appspot.com).
Sadly, we still can’t play with it yet because the Google Now server URL still remains secret.
If you know it though, all you have to do is set
localStorage[‘server_url’] = ‘http://example.com’; in the background page.
You can enable the option but you won’t receive Google Now cards since the service hasn’t been made public yet. It is also worth noting that for now only the Windows client of Chrome has the ability to integrate with Google Now, no news on the Mac version yet.
