Sony’s PlayStation 4 specs detailed. Fails to show the physical design of the device.

Sony unveiled their new PlayStation 4 at a special media event yesterday. But surprisingly, the company failed to show any of the specifications or the looks of the PlayStation 4 at the event, making the crowd go crazy and even angry. But now, looks like the company has managed to unveil the detailed specifications of the PlayStation 4.

The PlayStation 4 would indeed come with a killer specifications, like the new AMD Jaguar eight core CPU, and a custom made processor, improved BlueRay capabilities and 720p 3D Camera. Here’s the complete specification sheet of PlayStation 4:

PlayStation 4 Specifications
  • Single-chip custom processor (x86-64 AMD Jaguar CPU Core)
  • 1.84 TFLOPS AMD Graphics Engine
  • 8GB GDDR5 RAM
  • USB 3.0 with Auxiliary Ports
  • Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1 and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi Connectivity
  • 6x Blu-Ray Drive
  • New DualShock 4 Controller:
    • 3-axis Gyroscope
    • 3-axis Accelerometer
    • Capacitive Touchscreen
    • Vibration
    • 3 Color LEDs
    • Mono Speaker
    • Micro-USB Port
    • Headphone Jack
    • 1000mAh battery
  • HDMI AV-out with S/PDIF Audio Output
  • Camera:
    • Eye Camera
    • 1280 x 800 Cameras
    • f/2.0 focus lens
    • 30cm focus distance
    • four-channel microphone
    • 85-degree field of view angle

The complete specs are looking top-notch. And also, I think the camera is brilliant with a pretty good focus lens and better AV-Out. The new PlayStation’s camera is definitely going to kick the Xbox 360’s 3D Camera. And the competition is definitely getting healthy with releases like these.

But then, even though we are happy with the specifications, the devices’ physical appearance is still not revealed by the company. Also, the pricing, availability and such details are also not available at this point of time. This is probably a huge messup by Sony for not displaying the device at the event, which really went on to over 2 full hours, talking just about the way PlayStation has evolved.
