MacBook Pro with Retina Display and MacBook Air gets more affordable!

We never thought it was coming so soon. Apple today announced that they are dropping the price of the 13″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display and also the MacBook Air. Apple also announced improvements to the processors for the other MacBook Pros with Retina Display.

As I told earlier, Apple is definitely looking at an event pretty soon, to make some interesting announcement. The company’s innovation has also not died, in the post-Steve Jobs era. Now, ahead of every single thing the company is about to do this year, the 13″ Retina Display MacBook Pro’s pricing has been dropped to $1,499 (For the starting model), which is just a $100 expensive than the MacBook Air, which now costs $1,399.  If you want to get a powerful 13″ Retina MacBook Pro, with 2.6GHz dual-core Core i5 Processor, it is going to cost you $1,699.

The 15″ Retina Display MacBook Pro would now come with an improved processor. Here’s our comparison table for the new 15″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display:

 CONFIGURATION (15″ MBP) PRICE
  • 2.4GHz Quad-Core w/ Intel Core i7
  • 8GB RAM
  • 256GB Flash Storage
$2,199
  • 2.7GHz Quad-Core w/ Intel Core i7
  • 16GB RAM
  • 512GB Flash Storage

The new updated MacBooks from Apple is expected to have a better thermal cooling techniques when compared to the previous versions, since it has been a major issue faced by the customers with MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

The new pricing would also hint that the company has managed to make efficient use of the SSD which they use extensively in their MacBooks. It is also reported that Apple has managed to get a huge amount of SSD in prior to save costs in future. On the other hand, as Tim Cook said yesterday at the Goldman Sachs Technology Conference, the company might also be taking a margin cut with these pricing changes, to bring its products to even more customers.
