HP is back in the tablet race. Announces HP Slate 7.

Surprisingly, HP announced their new tablet device, called the HP Slate 7, a 7-inch tablet running Android Jelly Bean with Beats Audio. Though the specifications aren’t so competitive, the look and feel of the device is definitely an attraction. Let’s hop into discovering some more details about the tablet.

As the name suggests, HP Slate is a 7-inch tablet, which comes with a price tag of $169 in the US. HP publicly failed with its tablets in the past, and the company literally quit the race saying that they’re not going to be making some tablets from now on. But now, looks like they’re working on another strategy. HP’s re-entry into the tablet space is here. Also, HP has revealed that they’re looking forward to make a lot of tablets this year, and pose a serious competition in the market.

The new Slate 7, which is prices at $169 would pose some competition to the Nexus 7, which is priced at $199. But the winning point here would be to provide regular update and good support for the device, which Google is already doing for Nexus 7 devices. Talking about the specifications, the Slate 7 does not have a wow specification, but it is comparatively good for the price range the company has set.

This is not all. Slate 7 would run on Stock Android, with a variety of wireless communication chips inside, including the NFC. Beats audio and ePrint capabilities would be the two main features that HP would market for this device, and I think its pretty cool.
