How to hide ‘Software Update Notifications’ on Mac OS?

Did you know that you can completely stop the Mac from bugging you to update the Software on your Mac OS Lion or Mountain Lion.

Apple introduced Notification Center in Mountain Lion, and it has been the best feature that I think Apple has got into the Desktop OS ecosystem. But then, there are a lot of times where I get irritated with Notification Center. One such period is when there are some software updates that are present in the Mac App Store.

How to hide Software Update Notification on your Mac:

  • Whenever you have a software update, just open up Mac App Store
  • Now, go to Store > Updates (You can also press Cmd + 5)how to mute notifications Mac os x
  • Now, just right click on an Update, and click Hide Update.
