Tumblr has rolled out a minor update to the way people compose a new post. The new update follows the lines of Twitter, where its just a matter of seconds to compose a new post.
Twitter probably has the simplest way to compose a Tweet on the web, and looks like it has inspired Tumblr now. Following the way users compose a Tweet, Tumblr rolled out a minor update which lets users to compose a post with ease.
Until recently, users were taken to a separate page, to compose a new post on Tumblr. But now, they can indeed create a post right there from their Dashboard and hit the publish button. On clicking the Compose button in your Dashboard, it drops down a neat text box, in which you can select the type of post you’re about to make, like Picture, Link, Quote, Chat or a generic Text post. Once this is done, all you need to do is to just hit the Publish button, and you’re done.
Tumblr feels that this change is a step forward to make the Dashboard more streamlined for its users. And I think this is indeed correct. Here’s a GIF image that TNW made demoing the Tumblr Dashboard’s new Compose box:
