The sky is the limit as far as the depth of the App Store is concerned. It continues to grow as more and more developers join the club and pour in their apps.
So from the 700,000 apps (and counting) we’ve come up with the 10 best apps you can get. The apps aren’t arranged in any particular order. And they are *drumroll*………
Tumblr (free)
The popular blogging platform is blessed with a killer iPhone app. The app is simple yet surplus and gets all the basic right. It also supports some great gesture based commands and is a pleasure to blog with. Not a Tumblr user? Relax, this app is just what you need to start Tumblin’.
Clear ($2.99)
Apparently making a great app and redefining the note-taking experience wasn’t enough for the makers of Clear so they went ahead and made what is one of the most disruptive and distinctive app. Clear is completely gesture based and does away with menus or buttons of all sorts. The app is well thought and in my opinion is one of the coolest title to hit the app store.
Appsfire (free)
Appsfire is a great app for keeping track of any discounts occurring in the app store. The app provides the instantaneous best discounted apps based on popularity and you can also choose to be notified when an app of your interest is discounted. Helps you make great savings.
Fantastical ($2.99)
It didn’t take more than 10 minutes for Fantastical to replace the Calendar app on my home screen. As the name suggests the app is fantastic and is brilliant to use. It’s painless to setup and you can schedule calendar events by merely typing. Fantastical is quite simply the best calendar app on iOS and is worth a shot.
Google Maps (free)
Putting an end to all iPhone-gets-you-lost jokes Google Maps is finally here. And it is certainly a lot more than the previous default Google Maps app. The app has a minimalistic yet brilliant interface. Maps are robust as ever and the entire package is brilliant. Google has certainly brought it’s A game here.
Pocket (free)
Pocket is an absolute must if you enjoy reading. Any article on the web can be added to Pocket and read later via the amazing iOS app. The app is compatible with countless services and that in my opinion is it’s greatest features. Night reading and text formatting are a given.
TweetBot ($2.99)
No points for guessing the best Twitter client on iOS. TweetBot is a great gesture based app for all your tweeting needs. The gestures are brilliant and make things really snappy. The interface is good and the sounds are too cute. Very highly recommend despite the price.
YouTube (free)
Just like Google Maps, the YouTube app on iOS has undergone a major revamp since when it was a default app. The interface is slick and well thought. The app provides you access to all of YouTube’s functionality and doesn’t make you long for the desktop app. Google is really on fire here.
Gravity Guy ($0.99)
I don’t usually play games but when I do I play Gravity Guy. A great game by itself which goes on a whole new level while playing with (upto 4) friends. One of the best games on iOS if my memory serves me right. Oh, it’s pointless describing it so just go ahead and try it!
Flipboard (free)
Goodbye scrolling and welcome flipping. Flipboard brings great web content right in the palm of an app via a very good interface. The awesome flipping animation of the pages aside the app is a great way to keep up-to-date with all the happenings on the run. Another one for the history books.
Flickr (free)
Flickr recently had a huge revamp, and it quickly came up on our charts of the best apps for 2012. The company’s recent changes in the higher level management seems to be working out for them, and the new app is exceptionally good. Moreover, the company has managed to give Flickr Pro accounts for free for three months for all its users.
