Samsung has sold an astounding 100 million Galaxy S devices

Electronics giant Samsung has just announced that they have sold over 100 million Galaxy S devices.

The Galaxy S was launched back in May 2010 and since then Samsung have come a long way. 24 million people bought the S, 40 million bought the S II and another 40 million bought the S III. S II is a relatively new device hence it’s sales parity with the S II is expected. However at the rate at which it continues to sell, sales will outgrow that of the S II pretty soon (if they already haven’t outgrown it).

Not impressed? Well Samsung point out that they sell an average of 190,000 S III devices a day! That’s about 8000 phones an hour or 130 a minute!

The Galaxy S series have been a huge hit for Samsung, the only company who enjoys a healthy profit living in the Android world. With the Q4 2012 results just around the corner (January 25) we shall expect a rather merry earnings call from Samsung.
