It’s BlackBerry from now on. Not RIM.

RIM today renamed its company to BlackBerry instead of RIM. The company also updated the stock symbol to reflect the new name of the company to BBRY.

Guess what? The first announcement that RIM made today was to change the name of the company to BlackBerry, and also to update the stock name at NASDAQ to BBRY. This is a huge move by the company, and the folks over there at the event looked excited about this change.

While the event is still in progress, BlackBerry is all set to announce a variety of important devices running BlackBerry 10 OS, to build their portfolio back in the market. Talking about this change, Mr. Heins from BlackBerry said:

“We have reinvented the company, and we want to represent this in our brand. One brand. One promise. Our customers use a BlackBerry, our employees work for BlackBerry, and our shareholders are owners of BlackBerry.”
