The MET department of India has launched a dedicated weather application for the mobile devices. The app is initially available for the Android devices via Google Play Store.
Looks like Indian government is starting to understand the real technology that’s in the hands of people, the Smartphones. Interestingly, India’s MET department has released a dedicated real time app for Android right now, to get the weather information to the hands of the users in real time. Talking about this move, Mr. Jaipal Reddy says:
“India Meteorological Department’s weather forecast for major cities in the country for the next four days along with updated current weather observations would be available through the application,”
The department has also revealed that their development team would be releasing dedicated apps for other mobile platforms too in the coming weeks. The app currently covers only the Metro cities, and IMD has said that they would be covering even more areas in near future.
