Did you know that Siri is brilliant enough to understand the emoticons and convert the words we say into emoticons? We’ll now take a look at how we could dictate emoticons using Siri on your iPhone or iPad.
Siri is an awesome personal assistant on your iOS device. And it can do some writing for us too. But there are some situations where you will have to intervene your dictation and type some emoticons manually. But you can actually do that without typing it and let Siri do that for you.
Siri can understand words like Smiley Face, and convert the voice command into emoticons. We already know how to change the gender of Siri on your iOS device, and now, let’s now see how this can be done.
How to dictate emoticons using Siri on your iOS or Mac
- Open Notes app or any other app where you would want to dictate. (I primarily tested this on Notes app and Mail app on my iPhone and Mac)
- Now, Tap on the Mic icon, which would bring up Dictation.
- Say any of the following commands:
- 🙂 – Smiley face
- 🙁 – Sad face
- 🙁 – Frowny face
- 😉 – Winky face
- And that’s it. Here’s a screenshot of it.
Alternatively, you can also dictate things like “Colon hyphen asterisk” for kiss face. And such. Hope this helps!
