Apple releases iOS 6.1 to the end-users. Available for update via OTA and iTunes.

Apple today released the final version of iOS 6.1 to the end users fixing some bugs and bringing some feature improvements. The update is available as a Over-The-Air update as well as via iTunes.

iOS 6.1 Beta 5 went live just a few days back, and today, the final release of the iOS 6.1 is out to the customers, after a long period of testing and development. The new version of iOS, brings in some of the features like a minor UI tweak for the iPod Controls on the home screen, ability to book movie tickets and more.

According to Apple, here’s the change log for the new release:

The update includes the following improvements for iOS device users:

  • LTE support for more carriers (Apple previously announced that it would add more LTE carriers this week). 36 additional iPhone carriers. 23 additional iPad carriers.
  • Purchase movie tickets through Fandango via Siri (US only)
  • iTunes Match subscribers can now download individual songs from iCloud
  • New button to reset the Advertising Identifier.

Moreover, some of the users, including me, are disappointed about the iOS releases for a while. iOS 6.1 did not bring a lot of changes to the existing iOS 6, except that it could have been named as iOS 6.0.3. I’m currently testing the new build to dig out some features that Apple might have built into the new version. I’ll keep you posted.
