You can actually segregate iOS Screenshots from your Photo albums using these iPhoto or Aperture Smart Albums, to help you organize your photo library neatly.
iPhoto is a brilliant tool, and the Smart Album is one of the best features that comes packed with the software. Today, let’s try using the Smart Albums to segregate the Screenshots from the normal photos taken with the camera.
One of the meta data that the screenshots would miss, is the Aperture, Exposure and other settings that a regular photo has. We are now going to take advantage of these incomplete meta in the information, and segregate the photos from the regular photos. Here’s how we can do that.
This post will have all the configurations that you can set while creating the smart albums. You will have to create two separate albums, One for the iPad and another for the iPhone. This is because the two devices have two separate screen resolutions while taking screenshots.
Separate Screenshots taken with iPad from normal photos:
- Open iPhoto and navigate to File > New Smart Album
- Now, create a Smart Album with the following configurations:
- Aperture: Unknown
- ISO: Unknown
- Filename Contains: PNG
- Text Contains: 1024
- Filename Start with: IMG_
- And, that’s it. Import the photos and it will segregate screenshots and drop them into the Smart Albums automatically.
