48 Hours after launch, and 10 Million downloads: That’s Google Maps for iOS

Google Maps for iOS has clocked over 10 million downloads in just under 48 hours after launch for the iOS devices, proving it a point that it could easily win on its competitive platforms.

Google Maps for iOS launched just a few days ago, and people were pretty much happy with the announcement. But looks like there were 10 million of them who wanted to have Google Maps for iOS on their iPhone soon after the launch. No wonder what, the iOS 6 maps sucked, and Tim Cook is already feeling bad for delivering a product that did not meet the customers expectations.

Today, Jeff Huber from Google let out the information on his Google+ page that the Google Maps for iOS has clocked over 10 million download in just 48 hours after launch. We think this is a remarkable mark for Google on the iOS platform. And it also looks like Google is working so much for the iOS apps than the Android ones. Jeff also congratulated the entire iOS Team at Google for their efforts in bringing this app live to the much needed customers.

“We’re excited for the positive reception of Google Maps for iPhone around the world,”

“Congratulations to the Maps Team on the recognition for the passion and hard work they poured into it, for this release and over the last 7+ years.”
