Windows 8 PC sales fell well below the company’s expectations.

Microsoft’s Windows 8 PC sales have fallen well below their expectations, reports Paul Thurrott. He reports that a source inside Microsoft has revealed this information and has put the blame on the manufacturers for their inability to deliver.

Microsoft’s Windows 8 launched with a huge roar across the world, and while everyone thinks the OS is a early success, Paul Thurrott breaks the news that the OS did fall short of the internal expectations of the company. According to Paul, a trusted source has revealed this information to him about the disappointing PC sales, putting the blame onto the manufacturers for their inability to deliver the products.

Though the exact reason for the failing PC sales are not clear, it is expected that Microsoft would come out with the exact numbers in a few weeks time. Now that Steven Sinofsky is out of the game, we’re not sure how the new head of Windows would drive the OS. But the company has already sold over four million Windows 8 upgrades in just a few days after launch. We just need to wait for some more information from Microsoft to know how the sales have been doing since launch.
