Open apps on iPhone or iPad with Simple Siri commands.

Here’s how to open installed applications and webclip shortcuts on your iPhone or iPad using Siri with some simple commands.

Apple’s Siri just got brilliant with the latest iOS 6 update. And Apple is slowly integrating Siri throughout the Operating System. One such thing that Apple has integrated is the ability to open installed applications on your iPhone or iPad with just a simple command. These commands help you opening apps quickly, probably while driving.

So today, let’s take a look at how the applications can be opened with just a simple Siri command on your iPhone or iPad. Remember, this also works for any Web clip that’s been placed on the homescreen. Let’s get rolling now.

How to Open apps and webclips using Siri on iPhone or iPad:

  1. Fire up Siri on your iPhone or iPad. Just hold down the Home Button and its going to ask “What can I help you with?
  2. Next, just say “Open <app or webclip name>“. In this example, lets try to open Google for iPhone. So I’m going to say: Open Google.
  3. And give it a second. Siri will open the application for you!

P.S.: Incase you’ve got two apps with similar names, you’ll be prompted to choose the apps after Siri identifies your query. In that case, you can either say the full name of the app.
