Microsoft to release Windows Phone Apollo Plus in Q1 2013

Microsoft is set to roll out an update to Windows Phone 8 called the Apollo Plus is Q1 2013. It is believed that Microsoft will detail the update in February at the Mobile World Congress.

The update is expected to fix critical bugs such as Wi-Fi connection fix so that the connections remain on over a longer period of time and some audio improvements. This isn’t a major update by any means and will consist mostly of performance improvements and minor features. The update also might contain a Notification Centre, something which Microsoft couldn’t add in the original WP8 build. Similarly, features that failed to make in the original build will show up in this update.

The update will also test Windows Phone’s ability for over-the-air updates, a cord-cutting feature Microsoft added in the original Apollo release.
