iPhone 5 launches in India amidst huge fanfare. Sold-out like hot cakes.

Apple’s latest offering in the mobile space, the iPhone 5 was launched in India within a month of launch in the US. There were huge crowd gathered at various launch centers that were setup in different malls across the country.

Apple’s iPhone 5 is probably the most expected smartphone from Apple, and the device launched pretty soon in India than expected. The iPhone 5 comes for Rs. 45,500 for the 16GB, Rs. 52,500 for the 32GB model and the Rs. 59,500 for the 64GB model. Some of the users were infact happy about the pricing Redington and Infybeam has put forward for the device, and the demand increased incredibly after the pre-orders opened up in a variety of retail stores across the country.

“We were given very limited stock for our retail stores, but the demand has been incredibly high than we expected.” says a store manager in Chennai when asked about the demand for the iPhone 5. Almost most of the stores across the country are now out of stock, and the second slot of devices are coming to the retailers next week.

We think Apple is turning their heads towards India to pose some competition to the customers, and this is a very good sign that the company would put up an Apple store right below their corporate office in Bengaluru next year.
