Ever wondered why Chrome on Android doesn’t update as frequently as Chrome for desktop? Well, don’t wonder any more. Google is working on a better update frequency for Chrome for Android and aims bring it to parity with the desktop version by early 2013.
The problem with stock browsers is that updating the browser would essentially require one to update the entire phone OS which could be quite tedious. But since Chrome is a stand-alone app Google can push forth an aggressive update schedule.
Google has put up a statement on it’s Google+ page (for Chrome):
We expect an update to Chrome for Android starting with a developer update to happen before the end of the year, and we’re actively working towards aligning releases across all platforms, including Android, starting early next year.
If you use any other browser on Android this could be quite the incentive for you switch to Chrome. Let us know what you think.
