Apple proudly announced that the company managed to sell over 3 million iPads which were released just 3 days before.
Apple does it again. And this time, it broke its own record. In 2010, Apple sold 1 million iPads in 28 days, in March 2012, 3 million iPads were sold in just 4 days and now, the company has sold over 3 million iPads in just 3 days. The company officially announced this huge sales record in an official press release today.
However, the company did not clarify on which iPads were sold in these amounts. We’re still not sure if the 4th generation iPads were sold or the iPad mini or the count is combined for both the new iPads from the company. Here’s what Tim Cook has to say about this record breaking sales:
“Customers around the world love the new iPad mini and fourth generation iPad,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “We set a new launch weekend record and practically sold out of iPad minis. We’re working hard to build more quickly to meet the incredible demand.”
