Microsoft has taken down the Zune.net website, and the website now redirects to Xbox.com for all the user needs. Zune Music service is now Xbox Music officially.
We earlier reported about the launch of Xbox Music service, which would replace the Zune Music Service, with a lot of new features and streaming improvements. Today, Microsoft gave a goodbye kiss to Zune.net, making it redirect to Xbox.com for all the services that the company has been offering on Zune.net. The new Xbox Music is available for Xbox 360, Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Windows RT devices.
Microsoft has also posted the reasons and FAQs for this transition from Zune.net to Xbox.com. But wait, are the Windows Phone 7 users have been left out? It looks like the Zune Music service will still be accessible from the Windows Phone 7 devices. Users will Zune Music Pass will automatically be subscribed for Xbox Music Pass service without pain.
The hardest part here is that the Windows Phone 7 and Windows 7 users will not be able to get the new Xbox Music service that would stream music at 256kbps across all the latest devices. Goodbye Zune.
