Microsoft is getting closer to launch it own Music service to bring a seamless experience in listening to music in three of their major platforms, which includes Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Xbox 360.
Microsoft has done it this time. There’s been a lot of news around the company in launching its own Music streaming service, and now, the company is calling it Xbox Music. The service would offer free music streaming to Xbox 360, Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 customers. Microsoft is also promising to provide the best of all the music services that are available in the market, which includes the iTunes for effortless music purchase and Spotify for easy music streaming across devices.
Microsoft also has confirmed that the Xbox Music will NOT be available for the existing Windows 7 and Windows Phone 7 customers, which would draw a lot of negative press pretty soon. But then, the company’s neglect for these operating system was seen when they launched the Windows Phone 8, calling the Windows Phone 7 a legacy operating system.
While the disappointment is on one side, the Xbox Music streaming service will offer a 256kbps DRM-free music for streaming and download. And as expected, the Xbox Music comes with the titled interface that most of the Windows 8 apps look like. Microsoft is also claiming that the number of clicks to navigate between the music in the app has been drastically reduced.
Here’s the teaser ad that Microsoft ran for the product which would be out in just under 24 hours.
