With 5 billion photos from 100 million users, Instagram celebrates its successful second year.

With over 5 billion photos shared by 100 million users across the world, Instagram is definitely a winner in photo sharing social networks. The social network launched just two years before, today, and has never failed to impress the users with its quick and simple filters.

It was recently that Facebook acquired the Instagram for a hefty amount, and the user base has been doubling on the social network ever since. From just a simple free app to the most powerful photo sharing social network, Instagram has changed the way people share their photos. It was powerful enough to take down some of its competitors like PicPlz and many others. And today, its standing for where it’s worth it.

The social network now has over 100 million users, who have shared more than 5 billion photos. Instagram recently beat Twitter for users using the service on their mobile. Instagram is also adding up over 10 million users a month, and the recent acquisition by Facebook will definitely make them powerful in terms of infrastructure and other money related issues, and as Mark Zukerberg promised, the app is still staying as a standalone application for the mobile devices, and we wish it stays so forever.
