Apple’s iOS 6 Maps have been getting some rave reviews about the inaccuracy across the world except for the US, and here’s another interesting thing that the maps application have got. Some of the areas in various parts of the world are displayed in Black and White, which might be a bug in the maps database that Apple is constantly building.
The satellite view of various places are shown this way, and I am still skeptical about how well the iOS 6 maps data would be. Also, there are a lot (Really a lot) of places which are outdated in their database. While Google has about 5,000 people involved in taking care of the Google Maps, its now completely with Apple to push this forward and employ a lot of people quickly to solve this issue.
Remembering that Google Maps was not build in a day is the most important thing that Apple has to realize. And with Tim Cook apologizing for the Maps controversy, its clear that the company now understands that whatever they have/build is not great. There are also talks that Apple is quickly signing the dotted lines with the companies in different parts of the world who are involved in bettering the maps database. We’ll keep you posted on this.
