Apple reveals unlocked iPhone 5 pricing. 16GB model starts from $649.

Apple has revealed the pricing for the unlocked iPhone 5 in the United States, and the 16GB model starts from $649 and there’s a $100 increase for the higher storage versions of the phone.

Apple unveiled the new iPhone 5 recently, and the device has been receiving come cool reviews all along. Today, the company revealed that the unlocked iPhone 5’s pricing will remain the same as that of the unlocked iPhone 4S. The 16 gig model comes for $649, the 32 gig model comes for $749 and as you’d expect, the 64 gig model comes for $849.

The carrier subsidized models cost the same $199 across the US. Moreover, iPhone 5 pre-orders closed in about 20 times faster than the iPhone 4’s pre-orders. And the company is expected to reveal the statistics in the weeks to come.

We’ll try to get our hands-on with the device as it comes our way. Until then, stay tuned. However, the new iPhone will cost Rs. 35K when the USD amount is converted to INR.
