Spotify is reportedly launching a new web app to scale across different devices, to keep the service running along with the desktop and mobile applications.
Spotify is one of the world’s best music streaming service, available for all the major platforms is now going web based, according to TechCrunch. We’re not sure if the web app would co-exist along with the mobile and desktop apps though. Spotify has been our favorite music streaming service for years, and now, the company is looking to capture a lot more users by going HTML5. The services’ mobile apps use only streaming APIs to help users listen to songs on the move, but going HTML5 would improve the overall user experience.
While Rdio already has its web app for streaming music to its users, Spotify has not yet stepped into this game. Spotify is also expected to do a complete redesign of its apps in the coming weeks, to help users find the new playlists and other interesting stuff that’s happening with other users. Also, it would be interesting to see Spotify use its web app when clicked from Facebook.
