So, we witnessed the birth of the new iPhone, iPod Touch and iPod nano at today’s special iPhone 5 event, which happened at the Yerba Buena Center for arts, and here’s a quick roundup of everything that came out on stage at the event.
The iPhone 5:
This was what the event was for, and today, the new iPhone was released with a 4-inch screen, a better camera, improved battery life and a faster processor, which can perform two times faster than the current A5 processors.
Moreover, the new iPhone 5 is 4G LTE device, which can access the 4G networks throughout the world*. The new iPhone comes with a nano-SIM tray, which means, you’ll have to cut your micro SIM to fit it into the iPhone. With three microphones placed across the device, the device would have better reception and also the device uses a wide-band channel for providing better voice clarity over phone calls.

iTunes 11:
Besides all the hardware that took stage at today’s event, the iTunes 11 grabbed a lot of attention too. The next version of iTunes, which is scheduled to come out this October has been completely re-written and will set stage for the future versions of the media player for both Mac and Windows.
iTunes 11 makes it easy to create playlists, and also to play songs using mini-bar. With deeper iCloud integration, iTunes 11 will work seamlessly with the new iPhone, iPod and other iOS devices. The mini-bar just got a lot more powerful. The widget, now features search options, and also a cool new feature called Up Next, which gives you a preview of what song is coming up next.
iPod Touch:
The iPod Touch has now entered into the 5th generation. The new iPod Touch features a new 4-inch screen, a LED flash with a 5mp camera sensor. Apple’s Greg Joswiak took stage to showcase the new iPod Touch which will be available to the customers pretty soon.
The new iPod Touch comes in 5 different colors and will be available alongside the current generation iPod Touch in the market. Talking about the features, iPod Touch 2012 sports a A5 chip which is faster than the current iPod Touch and also scales up to 40 hours of music backup.
With super cool features like Siri, the Lightning connector, and 1080p HD recording, the iPod Touch is expected to be the industry leader once again. Apple is also releasing a new accessory for the new iPod Touch, called Loop. The device itself has a button at the bottom corner to hold the loop. According to Apple, Loop helps you to have your iPod Touch close to your hand, always. And it looks interesting to work with:
Just push the button on the back, slide the loop over it, give the loop a little tug, and you’re good to go. The design is so streamlined, you won’t even notice the button until you need it.

The new iPod Touch will be available for $399 for 64GB model and $299 for 32GB model.
iPod Nano:
The new iPod Nano got a huge welcome at the event. The device now sports the much needed feature, Bluetooth, enabling a wide range of possibilities that the device can be connected to. Moreover, with built-in pedometer, the iPod Nano is compatible with Nike+ out of the box.
The 7th generation iPod Nano is 38 percent thinner than the current generation iPod Nano. As we know by this time, Apple has also moved the iPod family to the much smaller and powerful, Lightning connector for charging and data transfer.
The device will sport 5 different colors, and is available at $149 for 16GB model.
iOS 6:
The iOS 6 has been there for the developer for a while now, and Apple’s Scott Forstall took stage to reveal that the iOS 6 will be shipping to customers this 19th. The new OS comes with 200 new user features and some amazing tweaks that Apple thinks the users will love.
The new OS comes with a completely re-built maps application and deeper social networking integration, and also some cool new Siri enhancements. The iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, new iPad, iPod Touch 4th generation and the new devices will be able to run the iOS6.
