Microsoft India creates Guinness world record for holding the largest number of hackers for 18 hours

Looks like Microsoft has done something exceptional today. The company received a guinness world record for having the largest number of hackers for 18 hours at Bangalore, India.

It was yesterday that Microsoft started off with the Windows 8 AppFest, with over 2,567 developers from across the country, and they were all set for a 18 hour hackathon of which several applications popped out on stage. The company received the award from the Guinness team, who were present from the start of the event.

It was really interesting to see that the hackathon was very successful, despite the strict rules that were put out to the developers. The developers who took more than a hour of break outside the venue were not counted in this record. Microsoft India’s Chariman, Bhaskar Pramanik said that event like these would encourage budding developers to develop more applications. And we hope the same.

We will keep you posted about these stuff in the coming days. Stay tuned. Congrats Microsoft India. Anyways, here’s a blurry picture that was posted on Microsoft India’s twitter page:
