How to switch Wi-Fi Network while in setup assistant on iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad after fresh install?

Here’s how you could start over or place an emergency call or change the Wi-Fi network while setting up your new iPhone after a fresh iOS install using the setup assistant.

The iOS 6 is coming out, and by this time, you must have been knowing the basics to do a fresh install on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Anyways, today, I went into a situation where I had to switch to another Wi-Fi network so that I can activate my device without needing to connect to iTunes.

iCloud activation is such a boon, since I no longer have to have my device connected to iTunes to get it activated. However, here’s a quick tip which would help you to Switch Wi-Fi network or place an emergency call or even start the setup from the beginning.

While you’re in the middle of setting up the new iOS device, just Press the Home button once. This would bring up a popup menu from the bottom, giving you options like Emergency Call, Change Wi-Fi, Startover and Cancel.

If you’re to change the Wi-Fi network, just tap that option, and it would again take you to the Wi-Fi network list, from which you’ll be able to choose the network to which you want to connect to.

But remember that Emergency Calls could be placed only if you’ve a valid SIM card placed inside the tray. If you think you’ve messed things up during the settings process, you can choose to Start over from the beginning. Selecting that option will reset the device to Factory Defaults, and would bring up the Welcome to iPhone screen for you.

I’ll try to get a screenshot of it the next time I restore my iOS device. Until then, let me know if you need some help in setting up your new iOS devices.
