Here’s how to fix the iMessage problem, where it will not sync on your Mac, but will work perfectly fine on your iPhone or iPad.
There’s been some complaints about iMessage not syncing on the Mac, but works perfectly fine on other iMessage capable devices like iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. On digging more on this issue, I found that this occurs when a user upgrades his Mac to the latest update from Apple. On further investigating, I had a doubt on the PRAM not being reset properly on the Mac.
So, here’s what I did. I reset the PRAM on my Mac, and the iMessage started to sync without any issue. Let me take you through on how you could reset your PRAM, so that it will start to sync iMessage properly on your computer. But seriously, I have no idea how PRAM is connected with iMessages. But then, it worked for me, and it would be worth the try for you too.
How to reset PRAM to fix iMessage syncing issue on your Mac?
Resetting the PRAM is a to-be-done-quick kind of task, during the boot time on your Mac. So please be ready with all your fingers before you go ahead.
- If your Mac is ON, switch it off.
- Now, As soon as you power the Mac back ON, Press the Command+Option+P+R keys to reset the PRAM on your Mac.
- Once you do this, you’ll hear another Mac boot sound
And now, the PRAM is reset. Now, you can boot into Mac normally, and check for the iMessage to sync. One reason that struck my mind while doing this was the connection between the PRAM and the 32-bit addressing that the PRAM does. So this might be one of the reason for iMessage to work correctly after resetting the PRAM on your Mac.
