Apple to bid a goodbye kiss to Ping on September 30th.

Apple as confirmed that the company would be shutting their iTunes based social network, Ping on September 30th, and the service is no longer taking any new customers.

Ping has been around for a while, and Apple aimed at making Ping an iTunes-based social network, that would allow the users to like and share the music they love to their peers. But then, at the recent AllThingsD conference, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook said that the company has understood that their customers don’t really need Ping. And he hinted that the service would be put to rest soon.

But now, looks like the service is traveling towards its grave. While Ping is being put to rest, there’s no shortage for the iTunes users to share the songs they love. Starting with iTunes 11 and iOS 6, users will be able to share the apps and music they love, to their friends via Facebook and Twitter.

If you think you’re going to miss Ping, there are a lot of ways in which you’ll be able to share the content you love. But wait, did you ever use Ping? I did use the service. Really!
