Apple has released the final production version of the next major version of their mobile operating system, the iOS 6, which was in beta testing with the developers for a while. The new version of iOS brings in a new maps application, dumping the Google Maps to all its customers.
Apple’s iOS 6 released originally at this year’s WWDC 2012, and it brought over 200 new user features. The new OS has finally shipped to its customers who own iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, new iPad and iPod Touch 4th Generation. Along with the excitement came one single disappointing feature, the new Apple Maps with TomTom integration. The new maps has got some sharp vector graphics, but then, the maps work fine only in major cities in the US rather than working well across the globe.
The new 3D Maps are really good only in the US, but it has failed to impress the users who are from different parts of the world. But now, Apple has responded to this controversy saying that the maps would get better and better as the users use it. It is really surprising that Apple has shipped the same version of Maps application that was not perfect when the iOS was in beta.
