Hackers leak 1M UDID’s from FBI Agent’s laptop. Leak includes Obama’s iPad too

The AntiSec hackers have done it now. The hacker group have leaked 1 million UDID’s, which are a part of the 12 million IDs which was stolen from a FBI Agent’s laptop.

Apple has been taking some serious measures to eradicate the apps that require the users’ UDID from the App Store, but now, there’s a bad news for them. AntiSec, a well known hacker group, known for their infamous efforts in breaking into tech’s biggest hacks, have obtained over 12 million UDID’s of various devices from a FBI Agent’s laptop. Of which the hacker group has released just one million UDIDs online, which is now accessible by the public.

One more interesting thing to note here is that, the President of the United States’ iPad UDID has also been leaked in this slot. But then, AntiSec is clear that they’ve released this just to let the appropriate officials know about this issue, and not to reveal user information.

UDID’s are not harmful when they’re at someone else’s hands. But still, there’re reports that there are high probabilities that someone can gain access to the Facebook and Twitter profiles with the UDID. Also, the AntiSec has revealed that they’ve never liked the concept of creating Unique Devices Identifiers for devices. And they also say that Apple has done a bad move in having UDIDs to their devices.

This might impact innocent users. But still, hope some of these UDIDs are safe for now. You can check if your UDID is in the 1 million IDs which leaked today with this tool. Whatever, why would FBI want to have this huge list of UDIDs with them? What are they after? What were the using this for?
