Demonoid, one of the most popular private torrent tracker, has now been busted by the Ukraine local authorities following a really bad DDoS attack.
If you are one of those who have been using Demonoid, to download files to your computer, then here’s a reason to get disappointed. The site was under tremendous DDoS attack recently, pushing it to go offline for a prolonged period of time. But then, looks like the attack has gone legal. Demonoid is a site that is based out of Ukraine, where a company called ColoCall has been hosting the site for a long time. But the, the local authorities have reportedly reached out to the place in person, asking them to take down Demonoid forever.
Also, reports have confirmed that the authorities were not only from Ukraine, but they were also backed up by the US government to take this step in getting the site down! The owner of the site is still unknown, and the company has refused to leak out details on this. But for now, the site is under the control of the government, including the servers!
Confirming this report, ColoCall has said:
“Investigators have copied all the information from the servers Demonoid and sealed them,”
“Some equipment was not seized, but now it does not work, and we were forced to terminate the agreement with the site.”
Well, this sounds bad! There’s a very high probability that the site won’t come back live for thousands of its users anytime soon! You can read more about this story by hitting the source link below! BTW, is it time to bid a goodbye kiss to Demonoid?
