Pinterest has now opened the registrations to the masses, after being an invite only site for sometime now. The company today made an official announcement about this change!
Pinterest has been gaining a lot of traction ever since it launched. And this cool new social network is more than just a picture based social sharing, but also an indirect e-commerse website. The people behind the Pinterest had the site’s registration as an invite-only thing, but now, they’ve opened up the site for the public. Anyone can now register themselves to Pinterest, and along with this change comes three new categories for the social network. Pinterest has now included Quotes, Tattoos and Weddings sections to the site.
Pinterest has been very successful sine its launch, and the social networking site also had a huge traffic spike once it became popular. At some point earlier, the site became the third most visited site in the US, and not to forget, Pinterest now has Tim Kendall from Facebook to help with its business strategy!
Today we’re thrilled to announce open registration!
For those of you who haven’t joined Pinterest yet, this means you can sign up without waiting for an invite: all you have to do is go to Pinterest.com to get started. In addition to using your Facebook or Twitter login, we’re also opening registration so you can sign up with just your email address.
We’re really excited to have the capacity to offer Pinterest to more people and if you’re a Pinner with friends who’ve been waiting on the sidelines, we hope you’ll let them know. Happy pinning to everyone!
