On its 66th Independence Day, India announces its plans for a Mars mission next year!

While the country is celebrating its 66th Independence day today, the Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh announced that the country is all geared up for a Mars mission as early as 2013.

India has been celebrating its 66th Independence day today, and during the flag hoisting ceremony that happened today in Delhi, Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh announced that ISRO is all set to launch its Mars mission in 2013, and ISRO is working to bring this to reality really hard. He also announced that the unmanned spacecraft would enter first enter the orbit of the planet and collect some information about the planet.

He also added that this will be a very huge step in the history of Indian Space mission. The government is also shedding about 4.5 billion rupees for this project and the mission will be launched next November. It was last week that NASA launched its first successful Mars rover in the Red Planet, and the space agency made history! And now, it would be really interesting to see India launch its own mission for the Red Planet.
