History has happened today! And this image, will remain in the history of mankind forever! NASA’s Mars Curiosity has finally landed on the ground, but on Mars. And the picture which you see above, is the one which the rover sent back to the ground station, soon after its successful landing.
NASA has been doing a tremendous job in getting rovers to the neighboring planets, and it has happened once again! NASA has successfully launched their next major rover into the Red Planet, to get further more information about the availability of Water in the planet. But this launch was something very special for the internet crazy crowd. The rover actually tweeted from there, and also, sent out the first HQ image back to the ground station soon after it landed on Mars.
NASA officials were proud enough to announce that the rover has successfully landed in the planet, and also, has sent out a good high quality image from the planet, with its special fish-eye camera that’s equipped into the rover. The image you see above is exactly what we’re talking about now. The camera got a little saturated due tot he reflection front eh Sun, but then, the lower part of the image is pretty clear in what it has to show.
According to the officials, the landing of Curiosity into the planet was so smooth, and this went on without a single obstacle on its way to the planet. Mr. John Holdren, the US President’s science advisor says that this is the most challenging mission that’s ever been attempted:
“The most challenging mission ever attempted in the history of robotics space exploration.”
Moreover, Charles Bolden, NASA’s Administrator had something to talk about the work that has gone in, to bring this Curiosity to life:
“Curiosity, the most sophisticated Rover ever built is now on the surface of the red planet, where it will seek to answer age old questions about whether or not life ever existed there on Mars or if the planet can sustain life in the future.”
Well, its today, that the history will remember forever! NASA’s one of the greatest work has been successful, and it has finally come to life! We automatically get a smile on our face when we watch this joyful press conference the company had today:
