Microsoft has opened the registrations for the Windows 8 upgrade program for those who bought a Windows 7 PC between June 2nd until January 31st 2013. The cost of the upgrade would be just ₹699 in India and $14.99 in other parts of the world.
Microsoft is gearing up for the big day, October 26th, to release their premium operating system to the public. And as we reported earlier, the company has now started off the registrations for the Windows 8 Upgrade Program. The upgrade program comes only for the customers who have bought a Windows 7 PC starting June 2nd 2012 till January 31st 2013. As we broke the news earlier, the upgrade program will cost just ₹699 in India, which is considerably lesser than the global upgrade price.
India is a very huge market for Microsoft and looks like the company has understood the market very well. The company is also rolling out a lot of promotional programs for the developers in the country. Windows 8 is a major bold move by Microsoft in adopting the new Metro UI Windows 8 UI, and this upgrade price might pull in a lot of customers to move into the new Operating System.
Microsoft earlier released a 90-day free trial of the Windows 8 Enterprise, to encourage the enterprise users to try the OS before they could recommend to their company to adopt Windows 8. The final RTM build is already available for the Premium MSDN Subscribers across the world.
