Instagram has confirmed that they’re rolling out released the next major version of the app for both iOS and Android today, with new features like Photo Maps, Infinite Scroll, and some improvements to the UI.
This is probably the biggest ever update that Instagram app for both Android and iOS would receive, ever since it was acquired by social media giant, Facebook. The founders of Instagram has confirmed that the app would receive a major UI overhaul today, and the update would push the app to version 3.0.
The new version of the app will have a new Photo Maps feature, which would overlay your photos onto a map, letting you browse through the memories which you’ve created overtime in one single view. Talking about this new update, Instagram’s CEO, Kevin Systrom said to The Verge:
“You’ve been building this archive of beautiful photos and we haven’t let you go back and live through them,”
