Anonymous India, has started its protest against corruption by taking down the Prime Minister of India’s website today! The hacker group has also shared a link to start a DDoS attack against the website! The hacker group is calling this operation, #opRiseIndia.
Anonymous India has been active for the past few years, to raise its voice against various cause, and the hacker group also held a protest in the streets across various cities in India to fight against Internet Freedom. It is definitely worthy to be noted that their protest was the first of its kind in the country. But today, the hacker group has taken one of the most important and sensitive subject that many have been trying to eradicate, the Corruption!
The hacker group has started to hold a DDoS attack on the Indian Prime Minster’s website, to protest against the cause Anna Hazare has been fighting for in India. To do so, Anonymous has hosted a page on a third party website, that would let the users of the page set the number of requests that can be sent to the PM India’s website, to take it down!
Anonymous has also issued a statement about this #opRiseIndia:
“People of India. We are Anonymous and we have pledged to fight Corruption in OpRiseIndia. We need your help in protesting against Corporations, Political Parties and corrupt media. You can join us in the DDoS attacks that we are launching against corrupted targets.”
Right now, the PMIndia website seems to be up and running. But now that Anonymous has issued an official statement to attack the website, I think it would happen soon!
P.S: We’re not linking to the site that Anonymous has shared. You can always find Anonymous India on Facebook!
