The image which you are about to see, were captured by the Mars rover, Opportunity, which went to explore our neighboring planet, Mars.
There’s been a lot of images that were transmitted from Opportunity Rover, but this one is something special. The nine year old Mars rover, has been doing a great job in finding some interesting stuff on the planet, but this time, the rover has sent an impressive panoramic image back to the Earth. The image, has got 817 separate images, that were stitched together and sent back to Earth by the rover. The image shows a landscape of small crater like places, that are existing on the planet, and also, you could clearly see the shadow of the rover that’s trucking around in Mars.
It was Endeavour which sent a lot of image proofs that showcased the availability of water in the planet and also some essential mineral veins on Mars. But this panoramic image from the new Opportunity rover would stay in the history for a while to give us a glimpse of how the planet actually looks like, and what it is to the future of space exploration!
You can view the entire set of images from the rover here.
