Sony has issued a statement that the company is actively working on bringing the Jelly Beam update to 2011 Xperia devices, and the information that came out of their Facebook page last week was false.
A recently released news on Sony Mobile’s UK Facebook page created a stir among the Xperia mobile users. The spokesperson who manages the Facebook page revealed that they company is not working on bringing the Jelly Bean update to the 2011 Xperia devices. But now, looks like the company has had a miscommunication with themselves.
In a official statement today, Sony has revealed that they are indeed working on bringing the Android Jelly Bean update to the 2011 Xperia devices as promised earlier, and there’s no change in the plan:
“A quick note – during a Q&A session last week on our Sony Mobile GB Facebook page, a local spokesperson gave information out in error on our Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software development and rollout for 2011 Xperia smartphones.
We are actively investigating Android OS upgrades for all devices, but in the meantime, our Ice Cream Sandwich rollout for Xperia S and 2011 Xperia smartphones continues as planned.”
I think the Xperia owners could now stay happy with this official news. And it is good that the company has responded to this issue immediately.
