World’s most popular blogging platform, Posterous, owned by Twitter has confirmed that the company has lost many user databases and the site is still down for more than 7 hours now!
Twitter acquired Posterous back in March this year, and we the platform did not go any major change since then. But today, there’s been a very unlucky situation for the company. The hosted blogging platform has been down for a very long time since yesterday, and the company has also confirmed that they have lost a lot of user databases. The reason for the loss and downtime are not yet clear from the company.
We have lost multiple databases and are working to bring the site back up as quickly as we can. Look for updates here.

The site might showup for some users, but the users will not be able to login into their dashboards due to the DB loses the company has incurred. Posterous has been posing a heavy competition to Tumblr, ever since it came out, but this downtime has saddened then for sure. The site has been down since 18:30 PDT yesterday and it is still down.
The downtimes are definitely frustrating for a lot of users, and also, the company should be working out their souls to bring back their website online. We’re closely following the issue, and we’ll keep you posted about the progress as soon as it happens! Watchout for this post!
