The Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710 users can now hit the update button to get the latest Windows Phone Tango update, which brings improved Notifications and some cool additional features to the device.
There’s been no major update for the Lumia users ever since it launched, but the owners were believing that their devices would get a taste of Windows Phone 8 this year. But unfortunately, Microsoft has revealed that they are not bringing the new update to these devices, and named them as legacy devices. But wait, there’s more to this story. The company has started rolling out the Tango update for its owners, which brings some additional features, making it a better device.
The Windows Phone Tango update brings flip-to-silence feature, which will let you put your device in silent mode, when you keep the device’s face down. One more noticeable feature is the new and improved notifications and some more additional features and bug fixes to the device.
Here’s a quick feature list for the Lumia users with Tango running on their devices:
- Ability to tether the 3G data connection via WiFi for upto five devices
- Improved Notifications
- New set of Wallpapers
- Send ringtones via MMS
- Ability to export contacts to SIM
- Use Static IP when connected to WiFi
While all these features may not be useful for some normal users, these are very good updates to the devices. But I still think some more features could have come to this update, since the hardware does not suck.
