MeeGo PR1.3 Update rolls out to Nokia N9 users! The OS still lives with over 1K Features!

Nokia N9 users have got their major update, and this time, its MeeGo. The company has rolled out the MeeGo update to the Nokia N9 users all over the world, and confirms that the new update has over a thousand features added to the device.

We’ve all had a perception that Nokia’s ambitious, MeeGo project has gone dead for sometime now, but the company has revived this platform. Nokia N9 users have got an update to MeeGo PR1.3, which is a complete firmware refresh for the device. The company is also promising that the new OS has bought over 1,000 features, which also include improvements to the device.

The new OS has got deeper Facebook and Twitter integration into the system, and this lets users share their content right within the OS.  The update is available via OTA, and weighs just 203MB, which required a WiFi connection to get the update rolling. The new OS also features some new camera enhancements, better NFC functionalities, and much improved UI response when compared to the previous update.

Hi everyone,

As you might have noted already, we have now started rolling out a new update for N9 to 40.2012.21-3. This software release brings you over 1000 quality improvements, including Mail, Facebook, and Twitter, as well as several small network and connectivity improvements. For more information on the update, you can check out http://swipe.nokia.com/.

The update will be released in waves during the next few weeks, firstly to non-branded variants and later on for other variants as well. When an update is available a notification with the icon is shown in the Events
