HTC sells out 25% of its share back to Beats Audio, to help ‘global expansion’!

HTC today announced that they’ve sold out 25 percent of their stake back to Beats Audio, calling it a realignment, to help Beats with global expansion. The company still remains as the single largest stakeholder in Beats Audio.

It was over a year back that HTC bought a major stake at Beats Audio, to incorporate their technology into HTC’s headphones and audio modules in smartphones. But things have changed over a year, and HTC has decided to give back half the share they held back to Beats Audio, considering it as a realignment of their terms to enable Beats with a flexible global expansion.

This give back does not mean that the company has lost control of Beats. HTC Still would remain as the single largest stakeholder in the company with 25% in their hands. Beats would take control of the remaining 75% and would continue to provide support with HTC’s mobile devices.
