There’s been some reports floating around saying that the Free Google Play Credits, that are given away to the customers on purchase of a new Nexus device is based on the account basis and no matter how many devices you purchase from the company!
Google promised that they’d be giving away free Google Play Credits on every purchase of their flagship Nexus devices at Google I/O this year, but looks like there’s a bit of miscommunication happening here. Some users over at Google+ as well as one of my friends have reported that these credits are based on the account to which the device is tied to, and not the device itself.
If you get two new Nexus devices, but if you use only one single Google Play account for both the device, then you’re not eligible for the Free Google Play Credits for the other device. The Google Play Credits would be activated for only one account, and there’s no use of adding two devices with one single account.
When contacted, Google has responded that that was the way it worked, and they were mentioned during the time of purchase, which they failed to do! This is not written in the help documents or the conditions documents when the purchase was made according to this Google+ user.
We have already reached out to Google to confirm this issue, and I think the company should avoid all these miscommunication between them and the user.
