The app got into the premium mode as soon as they updated their app for Mountain Lion, which is slated for release later this month!
The developer did not display a message on their website nor on the new app about going premium. But looks like they’ve updated their support article talking about this change. This has led to a huge confusion for those who actually have a perception that the app is still a donationware and now a paid app!
