Google unveils Google Fiber: 1Gbps Down and Up speed for $70 per month!

Google has finally unveiled their premium internet service in the US today. The company is calling it Google Fiber, and the new service brings a 1Gbps download speed for $70 per month.

Google has been doing a lot in bringing this internet service, and today, the company turned into a ISP in the US. Google’s Fiber is their new service which offers internet download speeds of upto 100 times than the fastest internet currently available for the customers. The new service comes for a $70 premium per month, and we think its worth it.

Google is also calling the new service the next chapter in internet, and the demo video shows how the Google Fiber eats up HD streaming services like Netflix and other applications which require a high speed internet connection. I’m pretty excited about this, and the company is expected to install new units later next month at Kansas City, using their own Fibers.

  • I’d still like to know what hardware in homes they will use to route a 1gbps connection.  Most home and small business routers make out at sever hundred kbps in actual routing throughput.  Even pfSense suggests a multi-core machine to route more than 500mpbs.
