Apple publishes list of Macs that would support Mountain Lion upgrade! Check if yours’ is in the list!

Apple has officially published the list of Macs that would be eligible to run the latest Mountain Lion OS, which is coming out anytime next week.

Apple released Mountain Lion Gold Master build this week, and there’s been a lot of speculation about the release date. The company is expected to unveil the OS to the public anytime next week! Mountain Lion does not run on all the Macs that were Intel powered as it did previously! Starting with Mountain Lion, Apple has decided to discontinued some of the older Macs.

If you look at the Mountain Lion upgrade page, you’ll notice that Apple has put up the list of Macs that would support the latest version of the OS. For your convenience, here’s the list of Macs that would be able to run Mountain Lion, when it comes out!

  • iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
  • MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
  • Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
  • Xserve (Early 2009)
